**Administrator / Technical Clerk Vacancy - What are we looking for**

**Costain provides engineering services to the energy, water, transport, nuclear and defense sector. With over 3000 engineers and designers across the UK our main engineering hubs in Manchester and Aberdeen. Experience capability to provide engineering services to all sectors.**

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Administrator / Technical Clerk to work in our engineering and design to provide a wide variety of support to the engineering and design lead team.

The role is expected to be 40 hours / full time, with a minimum of three days per week in Costain’s Manchester office on Aviator Way, typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to provide direct support to the teams. Other part time options may be available.

**Required skills and experience include**:

- An excellent organiser, communicator and coordinator
- Ideally hold GCSE level English and Maths or similar educational certificate
- Be able to work to tight deadlines
- Proficient in all Microsoft packages, including sharepoint
- Preferably experience of working in an engineering / design / professional services environment
- Understand the importance of safety and wellbeing
- Have a supportive and flexile ethos
- Be able to hold security clearance to SC level (to support certain projects)

**Principal Duties include**:

- Support managers with recruitment and induction including recruitment pack collation / interview scheduling / processes
- Training scheduling / coordination
- Diary / meeting management working with others across the business and industry including meeting room bookings
- IT, PPE, stationery and mobile phone ordering, management, and arranging collections
- Management of the engineering address list for communication
- P card holder - small item purchase and travel booking
- Assistance with Microsoft software eg Support with preparation of presentations, reports and documents using Microsoft Office software. Able to use Word to create, format and edit documents including creating templates, automating indexing, references and contents tables. Able to use Excel to compile and present data, creating functions, pivot tables and charts. Collating and editing presentation decks in PowerPoint
- Locating data from project archives, sharing to the wider team
- Maintaining technical library / technical standards - both online and physical - access, subscriptions payments and requests
- Collating and checking engineering / design case studies, maintaining a database
- Internal and external audits support, in particular ISO’s and quality.
- Timesheet and expenses support
- Supporting projects with tasks to meeting deadline, being agile and supportive, such as document uploads, maintaining action trackers and similar.
- Monthly / weekly report collation, including KPI’s development and editing

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
