An opportunity for an exciting role to work as part of the Admissions team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic centre has arisen.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration Assistant to work within the Admissions team based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic centre. Within the service we provide the organisation and cancellations of day case and inpatient surgery for all Orthopaedic services.

The individual will need to be enthusiastic and able to work flexibly to ensure support is provided to the admissions team. Applicants should have the ability to think calmly and logically under pressure and have a positive attitude to maintaining high standards of work at all times, and able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. You will be quick to learn, be able to work as part of a team but also possess the ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative. Ideally with experience of working within a highly pressurised environment.

The required hours are 30 hours per week Monday - Friday.

- Work closely with all staff in the service to ensure compliance with 18 week referral to treatment (RTT) targets, escalating and intervening where necessary to expedite appointments and procedures to avoid breaches.
- To call patients and confirm their surgeries.
- To update the ward details on EPR.
- To cancel patients when needed and give them their admission details.
- Provide administrative support to the Clinicians and the admissions Pathway administrators.
- Provide administrative support to Consultants, clinical staff and all patients under their care, including diary administration, correspondence support and other administrative duties as required.
- To update EPR accordingly and

accurately.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - theJohn Radcliffe Hospital,Churchill HospitalandNuffield Orthopaedic Centrein Headington and theHorton General Hospitalin Banbury.
- Develop strong working relationships with Trust staff to support the work of the Admissions team.
- To keep up to date with statutory and mandatory training as required by the role.
- To take responsibility for own development and to work with line-manager highlighting development and training needs in formulating own professional development plan.
- To call patients and confirm their surgeries.
- To update the ward details on EPR.
- To cancel patients when needed and give them their admission details.
- To undertake any other general office duties appropriate to the post.
- To maintain confidentiality about patient and staffing matters at all times.
