**Community Engagement & Events Lead**

**Important**: This role is open to applicants residing in the following locations: London, Birmingham, Watford and Poole

**The Role**:
The Community Engagement & Events Lead will manage and execute our community and events strategy, managing partner relationships, executing successful brand activations and events and be the primary contact for our safety training, Community Champions Initiative and Student Ambassador Program.

They will be leading on engaging a wide range of end users to become advocates for Beryl in every scheme and ensuring excellent user experience and interactions throughout.

This is a customer facing role in the public domain so we are looking for someone who embraces being on the move and is passionate about community outreach.

The role will need to be based in one of the following scheme areas; Bournemouth, Poole, Birmingham, Watford or in travelling distance of one of them. This is so they can easily access the events kit and vehicle.

Attendance at events at evenings and weekend is to be expected. Reasonable travel, accommodation and administrative expenses incurred whilst carrying out this position are reimbursed in line with Beryl company policy.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage, implement and evaluate our event and community engagement strategy, contributing to the wider business and marketing goals
- Plan & execute in-person events utilising local partners to where applicable
- Manage our series of safety events in tandem with third party qualified instructors
- Own the administration of event logistics managing vehicles, audits, merchandise and inventories
- Become the ‘on-the-ground’ contact with local organisations across schemes
- Forge high value relationships and deliver activity lead initiatives that activate riders and develop positive sentiment for the brand at a local and specific user group level
- Community engagement through local organisations (e.g. key contact for local cycle hubs and students unions)
- Liaising internally with operations to deliver bikes and merchandise to support events
- Arranging participation in local activities and events - e.g. Led rides and cycle groups
- Setting up user engagement activities on street at key Beryl locations utilising Street Ambassadors where applicable
- Ownership of Beryl Student Ambassadors Program
- Championing community development activity throughout our growth strategy and ensuring user experience is considered in every initiative
- Supporting user surveying and in person data collection

**Skills and experience**:

- Excellent event management skills
- Previous community engagement and events experience, preferably in a start-up, mobility/transport or green-tech industry
- Strong relationship building and problem-solving skills and diplomacy
- Ability to manage budgets and negotiate best deals
- Understanding of working in partnership with local councils, higher education and community organisations
- Proactive and highly skilled at executing multiple complex projects with strong project and timeline management
- Highly collaborative & skilled in gaining insights across multiple fast moving departments & projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience in prior roles
- Full clean UK driving licence
- 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training
