RADIOLOGY RECEPTIONIST/CLERICAL OFFICER - ELHT

**We have a vacancy in the Radiology Admin & Clerical team**:
37.5hrs per week over 7 days 7.30am - 8.00pm including weekends and Bank Holidays

Based within our very busy Radiology Departments, you will be responsible for providing front line reception and clerical support. Your principle duties will be to receive referrals into the department and ensure that they are added correctly to the CRIS system. To greet patients as they arrive into the department, record their attendance on CRIS and to ensure that all referrals into Radiology are dealt with efficiently.

**Post**: You are required to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, precise with detail and data collection and have the relevant keyboard skills, you must be able to understand, absorb and comply with procedures and make use of your own judgement in cases of importance. The ability to work on your own initiative and work without close supervision is essential.

It is essential that you currently have a consistent and reliable attendance record, the ability to move and handle and be professional in appearance. You will need to have good IT skills with a proven ability on basic systems.

Act as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to Radiology, providing a comprehensive reception and clerical service to patients, relatives, carers and clinicians.

Reception duties including registration of patient details into PACS/CRIS

Identify potential overseas visitors and patients liable to pay for treatment.

Updating CRIS with the arrival of patients to Radiology

Receive orders on CRIS checking patient demographic details on SCR

Ensure any DNA's are cancelled off the system or added to the waiting list as appropriate.

General clerical duties including filing, scanning and stationary stock control.

Provide cover for all reception /clerical areas at all ELHT sites as and when required, working over 7 days.

Provide flexibility in terms of hours worked in accordance to the needs of the service.

Deal with any complaints in accordance with the Trust complaints procedure.

The Radiology Clerical team support the diagnostic and therapeutic services at all the ELHT sites:
Accrington Victoria Community Hospital

Barbara Castle Way

Burnley General Teaching Hospital

Clitheroe Community Hospital

Rossendale Primary Health Care Centre

Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital

The team comprises of 20 reception /clerical workers, 17 booking clerks, medical secretaries and PACS staff.

Act as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to Radiology, providing a comprehensive reception and clerical service to patients, relatives, carers and clinicians.

Respond to telephone enquiries, contact with members of the public and staff of all disciplines, with tact, sensitivity and confidentiality at all times.

Attend Departmental communication meetings. Discuss departmental issues.

Putting forward issues and suggest possible solutions.

Attend all mandatory Trust training Sessions and any sessions relevant to the Job role.

Attend the monthly communication team meetings and any meetings relevant to the area of work.

Support and assist new members of staff during their training period.

Maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained regarding patients and be aware of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Policies.

Responsible for the completion of IR1 forms as and when necessary.

Show commitment to continuous improvement of Data Quality, in particular ensuring that patients details are kept up to date on the PAS/CRIS.
