We currently have a permanent full time (37 hr) Assessor Care Coordinator vacancy in the First Contact Team, an adult duty team based in County Hall. The role of FCT is to screen referrals into adult services and support/assess urgent situations where care and support is required or direct referrals to more appropriate services/teams. We look to support people to keep them safe and ensure their care needs are met appropriately whilst complying with the relevant legislative frameworks. The role can also be about signposting to third sector or other professionals and organisations where statutory services may not be needed.

The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.

This policy applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and also service providers that are commissioned by the Council. Safeguarding is everyone's business whether they work for, or on behalf of, the Council.
