**Institutional Outreach Officer (Next Steps South West)**
**1.0 FTE / 35 Hours per week; Grade 5, £25,138.00 - £28,759.00**

**The Opportunity**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Student Recruitment & Outreach team at Plymouth Marjon University for an ambitious and highly innovative outreach practitioner. The post-holder will support the delivery of awareness and attainment-raising outreach activities to secondary school students through a collaborative project comprising universities and Further Education (FE) /Higher Education (HE) colleges in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. This programme is funded by the Office for Students and also offers advice and information on the benefits and realities of going to university or college.
**Who we’re looking for**:
- You will be a pro-active and enthusiastic person with a friendly and confident demeanour.
- Have previous experience liaising and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have strong communication skills and enjoy working closely with learners in schools and colleges.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- The role involves raising awareness of and supporting access to HE in schools where progression to HE is low, promoting and delivering attainment-raising activities, and working with third-party providers.
- You would be offering a personalised service, meeting regularly with partner schools, and tailoring resources to meet the needs of schools and colleges.
- You would be largely based at Plymouth Marjon University but also in a range of FE settings, including schools and colleges.

**Where you’ll work**:
You’ll be based in the Plymouth Marjon University Student Recruitment team, on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.
