Outreach and Events Officer

Access Creative College & dBs Institute, Plymouth

Full-time, permanent

About the Role

We are looking for new talent to represent both the Access Creative College brand (Further Education) and the dBs Institute brand (Higher Education) in Plymouth as part of our Outreach and Events team.

Outreach and Events Officers form a key part of our marketing team and recruitment cycle, tasked with reaching out to schools, colleges, youth groups and other key local stakeholders across Plymouth and the wider region to promote ACC and dBs Institute as great places to study. This role is a vital part of bringing ACC and dBs Institute and the local community closer together.

What will my average day look like?

There is no average day as an Outreach and Events Officer. You could be calling or meeting up with careers leaders in schools to forge relationships, speaking in assemblies and classes, attending ‘career marketplaces’, delivering creative and tech-focused workshops to potential future students, or working with staff and student ambassadors to hold and manage exciting open events filled with activities and energy for young people and their parents/guardians to help them get to know ACC and dBs.

Another key part of this role is managing the ACC and dBs Plymouth’s social media accounts such as Instagram, creating engaging content to reach our target audience and grow our follower numbers. You could be out at photoshoots with marketing, capturing behind-the-scenes content, or speaking to staff, students or partners on camera to share tips and tricks for exciting topics.

As an Outreach and Events Officer for ACC and dBs, you’ll work closely with the Centre Manager and our Central Office team to reach new parts of your community. You will also champion Plymouth as a 'creative city', on a national level, and create and implement new strategies and ideas with autonomy to hit recruitment targets.

About you

As an Outreach and Events Officer, you’ll need:

- An outgoing and confident personality.
- A great telephone manner and computer literacy.
- Understanding of and a passion for your local community and student recruitment.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Project management, strategy and planning experience.
- Social media experience across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook etc).
- A full UK Driving Licence and access to a motor vehicle.

Diversity and open expression are fundamental to creativity. We are committed to promoting a culture of diversity and inclusivity for all our employees and potential employees.

What do we have on offer?

Salary Scale: £26,000-£29,000 per annum, plus non-contractual OTEs

Generous Holiday Allocation: 25 Days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Wellbeing Benefits: Health Cash Plan, Doctorline GP Service, Employee Assistance Programme, Access to Counselling and Cycle to Work.

Staff Discounts & Benefits: Access to a benefits platform which offers discounts at over 800 retailers

Paid Leave: Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Sick pay.

Contract Type: Permanent
