The Performance Pathway Officer (PPO) has responsibility for leading on the development of and logistics for our Regional Academies (RA’s) which are the first step on our Performance Pathway.

The coming years will bring exciting prospects for Wales Netball, and this new role will support the Head of Performance (HoP) to ensure that we are in the best position to grow our Regional Academy offering across Wales, so that we can develop talent for the future.

**Responsibilities**
- Co-ordinate and manage the eight Regional Academies across Wales.
- Lead and manage the logistics for each Regional Academy, working closely with the Head of Performance and the Head Coaches.
- Maximise opportunities for growth of the Regional Academy programme across Wales, in line with our strategic ambitions.
- Manage the Regional Academy budget with support from the Head of Performance.
- Work with the HOP to ensure there are robust talent Identification and selection processes in place for the Regional Academies.
- Utilise Sport:80 to effectively manage the trial process and the trial criteria in collaboration with the Performance Operations Lead for Wales (NB: The POL manages the National Academy).
- Network effectively and work collaboratively with Club/County/School Coaches where appropriate for effective athlete identification and recruitment.
- Develop an athlete and coach induction package and establish athlete and coach exit points for the Regional Academies.
- Work closely with the Head of Performance, and the Workforce Officer to ensure a transparent pathway for the development Coaches and Umpires.
- In conjunction with the Head of Performance lead on the development of athlete monitoring systems and techniques to maximise talent development.
- Lead on the development of ideas and projects that will improve the Regional Academy structure and effectiveness and enhance the athlete and coach experience.
- Attend events as the Wales Netball representative for the Performance Pathway and the Regional Academy programme, as required.
- Assist the Head of Performance with the review process for Regional Academies, in order to gain meaningful data to identify areas of good practice and areas of development, and to ensure that the Regional Academy programme is achieving its objectives.
- As directed by the Head of Performance, support competition squads through any Anti-Doping checks and drug testing requirements in line with Wales Netballs Clean Sport Strategy and Implementation Plan.
- Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, partners, including athletes, parents, coaches, and teachers as required to increase awareness of the Performance Pathway and the Regional Academy structure.
- Support the Head of Performance to co-ordinate the performance reviews of all Regional Academy competitions with our venue partners, coaches, and support staff.
- Support the development of the Regional Academy workforce (Coaches, Umpires and Team Managers where relevant) throughout pathway, working with the Head of Performance and Workforce Officer to plan and coordinate professional development opportunities.
- In partnership with the Workforce Officer, coordinate the Coach and Umpire sessions at both Local and National Level including advertising sessions, managing bookings, and communicating details to those in attendance.
- Coordinate elements of the newly aligned Workforce Pathway (Umpire and Coach Academies) in conjunction with the Workforce Officer.
- Manage any issues relating to the Regional Academies (i.e., athletes/ coaches/ parents/ venues/ partners) in a transparent and professional manner way to ensure best resolution for all involved.
- Be the first point of contact for the Regional Academies for athletes, coaches, parents, partners and other key stakeholders.
- Support the Digital Communications Officer to draft press releases to increase visibility of new and current partnerships, to promote the Regional Academies on social media and contribute to the Wales Netball newsletter.
- Coordinate logistics for any age grade activities and competitions i.e. Wales under 15 Squad.
- Manage the ordering, and product tracking of kit and equipment for the Regional Academy programme.
- Be a key member of the Wales Netball staff team and work successfully across departments to deliver the strategy.
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Head of Performance.
- Proactively comply with and promote all organisation policies, in particular those relating to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Mental Health and Data Protection.

**Qualifications & Experience**

Project management qualification i.e. Prince2

Experience in working in performance sport

An in-depth understanding of talent identification and development and has a good knowledge of netball at the high-performance level

Experience of managing multiple projects, people, processes and procedures from finance to administra
