Salary - Grade 9 (£45,111.09 - £48,324.12)

Working Hours - 37 hours (consideration will be given to job sharing / reduced hours in line with our flexible working policy)

Sport Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales. We are the main adviser on sporting matters to the Welsh Government and are responsible for distributing National Lottery funds. We aim to not only improve the level of sports participation at grassroots level but also provide our aspiring athletes with the support required to compete successfully on the world stage.

**_WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH_**

As a member of the Sport System Strategy team, you will work with people who share a passion for making the sport system more inclusive and who understand the crucial role that performance, foundations (ensuring young people are provided with the foundations and skills to have a lifelong enjoyment of sport) and coaching (ensuring our support and development of coaches matches our intent to make the sport system inclusive) can play in that.

You will also work closely with the Sport Wales Relationship Manager team, leaders in the Sport Wales Institute Services team and colleagues from across the UK pathway & performance system to identify those areas that will make the biggest difference in achieving success for Wales on the world stage through a holistic approach to athlete development.

Working in the pathway and performance sport environment in Wales you will develop influential relationships with Performance Leads, Pathway Leads and other key National Governing Body staff. Acting as a critical friend to, and a strong and respected influence on our partners, you will help them understand the approach we advocate in pathway and performance environments and the importance of strategies, systems, and structures required to realise the Vision for Sport in Wales through an Inclusive Sport System.

**_WHAT YOU'LL NEED_**

You’ll need a passion for making the sport system more inclusive and an ability to generate ideas and influence thinking in a way that will lead to positive, long-term change with sports and through collaboration across the sector. You’ll need to continue to drive forward strategies, systems and structures that are driven by need with a person-centred approach rather than those purely based on imitation and tradition alone.

You’ll be experienced in developing relationships using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods with internal and external partners, building trust, and acting in a way which gives others confidence in you.
