The Volunteer Support Co-ordinator will work with the Head of Patient Engagement, Patient Engagement and Support Officer and the Trust Communication and Engagement Team, to support the implementation of the Trust Volunteer Strategy.

This is a Fixed term /Secondment for 12 months to cover funding.
- We are looking for a detail-oriented and focused person to be responsible for our database of volunteers and volunteer opportunities. The volunteer coordinator's responsibilities include recruiting and training new volunteers, keeping a database of volunteer information and skills, matching volunteers to opportunities that suit their skills, ensuring volunteers are up to date with all relevant training required for their roles. The volunteer coordinator will also be required to assist in the management of volunteer services as well as supporting the set-up of new initiatives.
- The post holder will support the Patient Engagement team in collecting and analysing data to provide regular information in key performance indicators.
- The post holder will provide day to day management support to the volunteers undertaking roles on the Cancer Centre site in addition to supporting the Patient and Carer Partnership Board (PCPB); who provide the patient voice for the Trust.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

Communication
- Collaborate and influence internally and externally with a focus on innovative engagement and volunteering projects.
- Inform individuals and organisations of local and national campaign opportunities.
- Represent the Trust at key external meetings, steering groups, and community forums.
- To support the Patient Engagement and Volunteer Support Officer in the development of content for communication channels including the maintenance of web pages.
- To use a range of communication channels to engage and encourage two-way dialogue with all stakeholders.
- To undertake presentations within scope.

Leadership
- To be proactive in seeking new opportunities for volunteering.
- To support the management of the volunteer service ensuring all processes are followed for recruitment, management etc.

Service Management
- Organise community networking and outreach events with external partners to initiate conversations around cancer and what matters to people.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and develops relating to volunteering.
- Contribute to the development of policies and standard operating procedures.
- To service any relevant meetings, or events including the development of agenda, minutes and action logs.
- Support the Head of Patient Engagement in the achievement and maintenance of the Investing in Volunteers Accreditation.

Service Improvement
- As a key member of the Patient Engagement Team develop areas for service improvement and lead upon projects within area of responsibility.
- To undertake audits to ensure compliance with database completion, adherence to standard operating procedures and key performance indicators.
- To work closely with the Patient and Carer Partnership Board (PCPB) providing support and guidance at their monthly meetings.

Finance and Resources
- Manage time efficiently to work on multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Monitor engagement activity budgets and expenditure.
- Use the Trust Procurement system, Oracle, to raise orders.

Personal and People Development
- To support the Patient Engagement and Volunteer Support Officer providing day to day management for the volunteer service, maintaining a database of relevant information, arranging a robust induction process and social opportunities.
- To support the Patient Engagement and Volunteer Support Officer in developing and maintaining a recruitment campaign for attracting volunteers to undertake roles.
- Support the development and operationalisation of Volunteer to Career pathways.
- To maintain up to date knowledge on research, tools and techniques to support volunteering activities.
- To build positive working relationships, respecting and valuing the contributions made by others and acting in a considerate, helpful, and inclusive manner.
