Edinburgh, United Kingdom Aegon Full time

Job Description Summary

**Job Description**:
Communications Consultant

12 Month FTC

Location: Edinburgh

Closing date: Friday 1st December

We know our staff have busy lives and commitments outside work, so we work flexibly where possible and have a hybrid approach to office working (typically 2 days in the office per week, 3 from home).

We're Aegon. We're a company of ambitious, positive problem-solvers who get things done. We're a team, not a group of individuals. Collaboration is our life force and we believe it's our duty to leave things better than we find them.

We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments.

The role involves providing support to the Communications Manager and the Head of Workplace & Customer Communications in the development of channel-specific marketing communications. This includes various key responsibilities such as planning, ensuring that communication activities are executed according to set timelines and contributing to a rolling monthly delivery plan. Additionally, it entails developing and delivering effective and compliant communications, campaigns, and projects, which may involve changes and enhancements to propositions and campaigns.

Maintaining quality is a crucial aspect of the role, with a focus on adhering to brand standards and reflecting the customer promise. Measuring, evaluating, and reporting on planned activities is also a key part of the role, along with managing activities within agreed budgets and tracking and reporting on their effectiveness. The role further involves completing invoicing and purchase processes effectively to ensure efficient operations.

Lastly, governance is an essential component, requiring adherence to Conduct Risk requirements and the fulfilment of all regulatory and customer-based responsibilities and objectives.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Held a marketing communications role.
- Proven track record in writing marketing communications proposals/plans and identifying promotional opportunities.
- Operated within creative brand guidelines.
- Successfully managed cross-functional projects.
- Managed project budgets effectively

OPTIONAL: It’d also be great - but not essential - if you’ve got:

- Experience of working in the Finance Services sector

What’s in it for you?
- A competitive salary from £29,000 - £43,500, depending on the experience you can bring
- A non-contributory pension between 8%-12%
- A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
- 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.

The legal bits

We’ll need you to confirm you have the right to work in the UK. If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us. This will include a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing satisfactory references.
