**Job summary**:
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician, with experience working with children and young people, to join our community children and adolescent mental health team on the Isle of Wight. The IOW NHS Trust community CAMHS Team is CQC rated Good, the team is a multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 members of staff who provide services to children and young people on the Island that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.

As part of your job role as an Inreach / Outreach Mental Health Practitioner it is your responsibility to respond to children and young peoples presentations and admissions to hospital due to psychiatric crisis (self harm, suicidal thoughts and attempts, overdoses) with support of the team.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
We are looking for an experienced clinician in children and young people's mental health, to take up the role in the Inreach Outreach Team to ensure the service continues to deliver good quality, compassionate care. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist support and intervention to children, young people and their families within a range of settings including; home, the children's ward, Tier 4 mainland placements and other community settings to support recovery and deliver interventions in the least restrictive environment. They will be passionate about ensuring the young person's voice is central to the work they do and work in partnership with families and other agencies to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
Professional degree or equivalent qualification and registration in nursing, social work, OT, or other relevant profession with related CAMHS experience

Past qualifying training in CAMHS or therapeutic approaches with children, young people and families

**Desirable**:
Training in psychotherapeutic approaches with children and young people

Training in clinical supervision such as ENB 998 or mentorship and/or equivalent experience and training

**Experience**:
**Essential**:
Extensive working knowledge of mental health disorders in Children and Adolescents

Experience of carrying out specialist child and/or adolescent mental health assessments and treatments

Up to date knowledge of child development / adolescent process and mental health issues

Experience of multidisciplinary and multiagency working

**Desirable**:
Knowledge of inpatient therapeutic work, eating disorder programmes, CPA, follow up and recovery modules

Experience of supervising others

Intermediate IT and data entry skills
