Clinical photographers provide essential professional and cost-effective photographic and video work for use in patient care, medical education and research. We are seeking a suitably qualified Junior Clinical Photographer to join our busy and progressive department. You will be based at Ipswich Hospital, however there is a requirement to work across at Colchester Hospital. This post is part time, 32 hours per week.

You will assist in welcoming patients and service users to the department and it will be your responsibility to photograph patients as per their referral within multiple imaging environments. You will also need to be confident with technology and systems/processes, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is paramount with this role.

A large part of this role is communicating with the wider healthcare team, including clinicians and academics, and patient/relatives therefore you will need to be confident in your ability to communicate effectively.

You will need a strong photographic background, however experience in clinical photography is not required as on the job training will be provided to allow for clinical photography methods to be acquired alongside your current skills, such as lighting/composition manual camera usage.

You will require experience and knowledge in Adobe CC and with photography and lighting equipment; be able to work as part of a team and be confident in presenting ideas.

To participate in the provision of a patient focussed specialised clinical/technical photography service in Studio/ward, providing accurate visual record of disease including assessment of patients to determine the most appropriate way of visually recording a disease, deformity or clinical sign deformity or injuries of patients including Vulnerable Adults and Children.

Use experience/medical knowledge to interpret non-routine referrals of medical conditions and how best to capture clinically relevant images.

Sound IT skills of image manipulation/colour/storage/of both clinical and non-clinical images, understand principles of a networked image database for reviewing of images.

Thorough understanding of consent for use and confidentiality.

Photography of non-clinical events.

Shoot/edit video footage for clinical and educational usage
