Within this challenging role you will be part of our Health & Safety Department to assist with their daily administrative tasks, where there will be a chance to study and progress within the team.

**Your role**
- Maintaining a database of incidents and liaising with the safety team to ensure that the actions are closed off.
- Attending local safety meetings and recording minutes.
- Checking the contents of the safety noticeboards are adequate, relevant and kept up to date.
- Maintaining the H&S public folders for all ports in conjunction with the safety team.
- Recording of completed safety inspections and compliance audits and monitoring that these are completed in accordance with the safety department KPIs.
- Monitoring the completion of statutory checks in accordance with agreed schedules.
- Monitoring review dates of operational, fire, COSHH and workplace transport risk assessments and informing the safety/operational teams when reviews are required.
- Checking first aid supplies and first aid kits in accordance with the Safety Management requirements.
- Assisting in completing drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with the company policy.
- Raising purchase orders for safety supplies as requested by the Safety Management team.
- Undertake other reasonable tasks commensurate with the level and abilities of the job, as requested.

- Proven administrative experience
- High degree of flexibility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of management and staff
- Excellent IT Skills (MS Office and databases)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and can demonstrate confidence in working under pressure and is able to use their own initiative
- Is able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
