We are currentlyrecruiting a **Transport Supervisor** to be based at their Feltham, West London branch.
As the Distributor of Choice, we take pride in providing the highest level of service and support. We have around 600 employees, with specialist teams dedicated to our key market sectors, and we work hard to add value to every project.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the **Transport Supervisor**will be responsible for planning and organising the transport function efficiently and safely. You will ensure the team complies with legislation and company standards. In your role, you will be responsible for motivating your team and monitoring theirperformance, all whilst providing a high level of customer service at all times. You will build key relationships both internally and externally, remaining customer focused at all times.
Key Responsibilities of the **Transport Supervisor** include:
- Plan and organises routing and loading of vehicles to ensure maximum efficiency and to ensure excellent customer service.
- Plan and organises staff within each shift ensuring all areas of operation is adequately covered i.e., organises breaks etc.
- Allocate driver routes for deliveries and collections.
- Identifies staff shortages when they occur and contacts the relevant agency to arrange cover.
- Arranges additional transport as required when vehicles are in for repair and/or on customer demand in line with budget.
- Ensures adequate communication channels are established and maintained to improve teamwork and workforce motivation and commitment.
- Monitor staff performance against objectives and initiates action to address shortfalls.
- Monitors activities to ensure each person has adequate skills and competence to achieve activities.
- Listens to staff concerns, persuades, and influences others to gain buy in and trust.
- Motivates and coaches the team to help them reach their objectives.
- Conducts regular team meetings.
- Takes responsibility for resolving issues with orders and customer deliveries.
- Ensures staff provide customers with a high level of service.
- Arranges vehicle repairs, as notified on defect reports, with either leasing company or garage.
- Raises issues that may impinge on health and safety requirements and ensures that they are rectified immediately.
- Ensures knowledge is up to date on legislation related to the transport of goods.
As the **Transport Manager**you will have experience in people management, professional driving experience and a Valid HGV driving qualification - C or C+E, Moffett Licence, Digital Tachograph card and Driver CPC Card. You will be customerfocused, results driven, proactive and an excellent communicator. Strong numeracy skills and proficiency with IT, particularly MS Office is required. You will also ideally possess a Forklift Licence.
On offer is a competitive salary plus bonus scheme. This is a full-time position 40 hours per week. Benefits include 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance plan and work save pension.
