The **Department of Languages and Cultures (DeLC)** is a pioneer in multi-disciplinary, degree level language studies, offering wide-ranging programmes which combine specialist language learning with trans-cultural knowledge and understanding which is both European and global in scope.

We are seeking to appoint temporary cover for our **Recruitment and Teaching Co-ordinator** post.

**This a non-student role.**

You will work as a pivotal member of DeLC’s Professional Services Team to provide a high standard of support to the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment, conversion and marketing activities. You will organise and be involved in on-campus recruitment activities such as open days and departmental offer holder events and effectively maintain the departments website and social media platforms. You will co-ordinate the key planning and assessment administrative functions for Postgraduate Research in the Department.

**Pay Rate**: £12.45 per hour plus £1.50 holiday pay

**Start Date**:12th January 2023

**End Date**:28th February 2023

**Working Pattern**: 29 hours per week

**Location**: On Campus
- Under the direction of the UG Admissions Officers and line manager, develop a programme of activities and events to facilitate the recruitment of students as prioritised by the department.
- Liaise with departmental colleagues in the organisation of departmental offer holder events and the contribution to University-wide open days
- Provide support for in-house recruitment events ensuring all logístical arrangements, including room and accommodation bookings, hospitality and travel arrangements are in place. Liaise with the Department safety officer to ensure safety related issues are in place.
- Support the departmental website and social media sites within the Department and ensure they are updated at regular intervals, liaising with Faculty support as required.
- Collate, organise and prepare suitable material to be used in Departmental recruitment/marketing including print and digital, working closely with relevant academic staff; coordinate and review departmental literature, including monitoring its use and impact, and develop strategies for improvement.
- To support the Director of Postgraduate Studies in and undertake promotional and recruitment and conversion activities for the postgraduate programmes, including first point of contact for enquires, the composition/updating of promotional literature and website information (via the University’s contents management system), social media/’keeping warm’ activities, and open days/departmental briefing sessions and to attend Faculty PG Recruitment and Conversion committee meetings.
- Act as first point of contact for information, advice and administrative support to postgraduate students, and referral to the Director of Postgraduate Studies and/or university agencies, as appropriate.
- Maintenance of postgraduate student records

**Person Specification**
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a range of people, both internal and external to the organisation, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team to manage own workload, working flexibly and under pressure, in order to meet competing deadlines.
- Evidence of successfully working on administrative processes in a relevant environment
- Experience of producing and maintaining accurate materials (printed and online/social media) for promotional purposes
- Experience of digital systems, database and spreadsheet packages.

- Ability to work evening or weekends for recruitment events.
