Classification Officer - Customs & Export

**A Snapshot of Your Day**:
As a member of the Customs team, you will be responsible to determine accurate customs and export control classifications, on behalf of Siemens Energy legal entities in the United Kingdom. Within this responsibility you capture data/documentation and determine the correct customs classification (tariff) according to the UK Integrated Tariff and export control classification according to the UK Strategic Export Control List.

This position reports to the Head of Customs UK&IE as part of a multinational team.

**How You’ll Make an Impact**:

- Identifying the required information for customs and export control classification and gathering this information from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departments such as engineering, R&D and other technical areas.
- Analysing and classifying goods according to UK Customs regulations, the UK Integrated Tariff Schedule and the UK Strategic Export Control List and taking into consideration technical attributes required for the classification process.
- Monitoring and controlling those processes.
- Actively participate in team growth efforts.
- Recommend when needed changes in current processes.

**What You Bring**:

- At least 2 years of experience in the field of customs classification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or trade, legal or related work experience.
- Fluent language skills (written and verbal) in English are a must.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).
- Experience with customs/ERP IT systems such as SAP, MIC, Shareoint, etc. a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Negotiation, presentation, and assertiveness are attributes that describe you the best.
- Support organization's goals, values, and diversity.
- Business travels of 5-10 %.
