**Job summary**:
RAF Coningsby is an operational flying station within Lincolnshire which protects the UK through Quick Reaction Alert and is an integral part of the UK air defence.

The Test and Measuring Equipment Cell (TMEC) provides RAF Coningsby and deployed units with fit for purpose TME, ensuring that customers have the correct level of equipment and support. With over 1600 disparate items to control and it is a challenging but interesting place to work.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The Test and Measurement Equipment (TME) Planning Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Typhoon aircraft operations are resourced and supported with the correct levels of fit for purpose TME and is actively involved assisting deploying squadrons, through the A5 Planning Committee, with their TME selection and logístical control of that equipment during the deployment.

This is a demanding post in a busy environment, the successful applicant must be able to perform well under pressure. You will be supporting the Typhoon Force and RAF Coningsby lodger units, by controlling the TME across the force to ensure that it meets mandated levels of serviceability and availability globally. You must be motivated, assertive, a good team worker and be determined to provide continuity and commitment to the customer. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to make informed decisions in the coordination of repair and calibration of all TME, focusing on the operational requirement of the customer. You will need to demonstrate an ability to solve complex problems making timely decisions based on a sound knowledge of the user’s role and a solid understanding of the Service Logistic Network. TMEC uses a bespoke database system, the successful applicant must have excellent IT knowledge and database skills with experience of Outlook, Word and Excel.

Ensuring Typhoon aircraft operations are resourced and supported with the correct levels of fit for purpose TME and actively assisting deploying squadrons, through the A5 Planning Committee and representing TMEC on that committee.

Act as the TME coordinator for all Coningsby operations and deployments, liaise with squadron unit mobility officers (UMO) and TME Controllers to ensure TME meets operational and deployment deadlines and the deployment lists are properly populated, ensuring communication is maintained with UMOs and TME is returned expeditiously.

Provide statistical data to Force HQ and other agencies on TME levels held by the Typhoon force and monitor those levels to assist with deployment planning and aid OC TMEC and the TME Controllers.

Act as the forecast planner to ensure replacement TME is provided to Falklands Island (FI) detachment, liaising with the controllers at FI and Coningsby to ensure TME is available.

Actively pursue external agencies, manufacturers and other TMECs to resolve or highlight problems with paucity of TME encountered by Coningsby TMEC.

Act as the DASOR, CI (Continuous Improvement) point of contact for TMEC and the raise System Enquiries as directed.

Aid the TMEC Controllers during periods of manpower shortfalls or high workload.
