East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust provide services to the local community to around 500,000 people, with the regional cancer centre supporting around 2 million people. They provide care to the community with an annual budget of around £350 million and more than 5,000 staff.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- To assist and maintain the efficient operation of the Trust’s Cash Office
- Daily balancing of cash and cheques, reconciliation and completion of Bank paying in details by G4s.
- Have a sound knowledge of the Benefit System and Hospital Travel Cost Scheme and give coherent advice to patients who may have financial concerns.
- Maintain and control Petty Cash. Reimburse patients travel costs and other authorised payments to departments and staff.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Microsoft office skills
- Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous experience in similar role
- NHS System Knowledge
- Lorenzo and Oracle (desirable)
