Permitting Coordinator/ Administrator

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permitting Coordinator to join our programme team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Programme Manager and Operational teams to ensure seamless planning and permitting of works, adhering to council permit schemes, our company standards, and legislative codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
·Performance Monitoring: Work with the Performance Team to develop reports and dashboards to track performance metrics such as the timeliness of permit and licence applications, compliance with Start and Stop Notices, variations, and extensions.
·Audit Inspections: Conduct internal audit inspections on-site to ensure compliance with our processes and procedures related to permitting.
·Training Development: Create and deliver comprehensive training programs across various business aspects related to permits, licences, and application of required Codes of Practice.
·Stakeholder Communication: Assist Scheme Delivery Managers in addressing and resolving enquiries and complaints from the public, elected members, council officers, and external agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
·Permit Processing: Process Streetworks permits within the required timescales, ensuring all conditions are appropriately applied in line with good practice and legislation.
·Support Delivery Management: Provide support to Scheme Delivery Managers in managing the delivery of works outlined in the Contractors Plan Works Programme during their absence.

Key Skills and Experience:
·Team Collaboration: Exceptional team working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
·Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clarity and precision in all interactions.
·Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Traffic Management Act (Streetworks Noticing).
·Technical Proficiency: Experience with reporting tools such as PowerBI and planning software.
