The role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Seer Green

The Role:

Assist students in understanding and adhering to behavioural expectations, classroom routines, and academic tasks
Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other support staff to develop and implement effective support plans for students
Follow the school’s behaviour code and having the responsibility for safeguarding and children’s welfare and be aware of any issues linked to home/child/teacher/school.
Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours and promote positive alternatives
Carrying out interactive activities to help build their knowledge
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on building essential academic and life skills
Monitor student progress and behaviour patterns, documenting observations and communicating effectively
Requirements for the Role:

Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one
Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or experience within education sector or experience in assisting/learning
Relevant experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours, preferably in an educational or youth support setting
Able to provide two years’ worth of employment references
Positive and enthusiastic approach to education
