Learning Support Assistant, Seer Green

Here at Supply Desk We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) specialising in supporting individuals with challenging behaviours. As an LSA, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support and guidance to students who require assistance in managing their behaviours while engaging in educational activities. Your commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting personal growth will contribute to the overall success of our students.

The role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Seer Green

The Role:

  • Assist students in understanding and adhering to behavioural expectations, classroom routines, and academic tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other support staff to develop and implement effective support plans for students
  • Follow the school s behaviour code and having the responsibility for safeguarding and children s welfare and be aware of any issues linked to home/child/teacher/school.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours and promote positive alternatives
  • Carrying out interactive activities to help build their knowledge
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on building essential academic and life skills
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour patterns, documenting observations and communicating effectively

Requirements for the Role:

  • Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or experience within education sector or experience in assisting/learning
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours, preferably in an educational or youth support setting
  • Able to provide two years worth of employment references
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to education
