As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils and young people they care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world. Supporting pupils with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism (ASC) is important and rewarding work You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield. EXPERIENCE Relevant experience in a school or similar setting. Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Experience of effectively and positively managing a class and leading learning with groups of pupils, using appropriate strategies to enable them to settle to learn. TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Specific training in interventions/SEN/SEMH. Experience of working with children and/or young people Commitment to all CPD offered. Team Teach training would be beneficial to this role, however this can be provided for free. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional related references Know of somebody perfect for this role?
