Job Description

This individual will lead and drive the sales pipeline of our 80 product solutions and innovations via specification and contact at the earliest areas of the value purchase chain. They will have responsibility for identifying and facilitating development of influence in market choice of product, networking and initiating new relationships with our customer’s customers.

You will engage in educating/on boarding house-builders, housing associations, and aligning and influencing various stakeholders. Your input and contribution will feed customer back initiatives and ensure our NPD pipeline is aligned with house builder needs, in turn helping us to work towards our business goals and overarching enterprise strategy.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and CBI leadership to engage in and help drive the wider business unit strategy, being a key interpreter of market regulation changes and headlining CBI sales that keep ITW at the forefront of the industry’s innovators.

Primary responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Identify, develop, and facilitate relationships with partners in core markets, especially focused on housebuilders, social housing, housing associations, community land trusts (CLTs) and similar development associations.
  • Facilitate new business development at a strategic level, driving a top down up approach to generate contribution, engagement and success for our fabricator channel partners, with Housebuilder’s and similar entities.
  • Create, manage and lead a pipeline of interactions, meetings and commercial opportunities with housing developers.
  • To ensure that Pipeline and contacts are accessible and managed well for expanded interaction from Marketing and sales teams, using appropriate tools and tracking.
  • Develop a strategy for localised regions that works with our current fabricator base to upsell innovations and drive sales of our 80 products.
  • Identify opportunities through Customer back methodology for further assessment, focused on product offering and new product development opportunities that enhance our value proposition to the customer.
  • For ensuring the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues
  • Arrange and/or attend specific company networking events and/or trade shows which will include evenings and weekends from time to time.
  • Provide training when required and utilise all relevant ITWCP teams to ensure high quality support for customer, peers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others in your work environment.

Qualifications

Experience and skills:

  • Past experience of navigating specification selling, with housing associations and developers.
  • Experience of Sales & Marketing, preferably within the construction sector across various stakeholder levels with specific focus on specification selling and longer sales cycles.
  • Evidence of developing and implementing a commercial strategy and experience facilitating marketing/commercial collaboration.
  • Evidence of previous new business activity success, networking, lead generation, tendering and professional fully fledged proposals at a high level.
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Ability to challenge, negotiate and influence others, both internally and with customers and our customer’s customer and pipelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate to all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Flexibility to travel
  • High competency in written and spoken English Language.
  • A full driving License
