Reported From: Delivery Team, Office Team, Restaurant Team, Security Team, Stock Control Team, Picking Team, Goods Receiving Team, Branch Sales Team

Primary Responsibility

Manage the branch operation to meet company’s objectives ensuring procedural compliance and efficiency. Ensure Delivery, Office, Restaurant, Sales, Stock Control, Warehouse and Security teams are working to the company’s standards and staff are fully informed and directed on the short and long term targets in order to perform excellent standards of customer care.

List areas of daily and long-term responsibilities

General

  1. Ensure effective communication amongst teams and other Branches
  2. Promoting and managing all safety
  3. Responsible for general security of company premises and goods

Human Resources

  1. Recruitment, Selection and Talent Management
  2. Monitor/measure staff performance
  3. Conduct appraisals, performance and probationary reviews
  4. Manage employee relations, conduct disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings in accordance with company procedures
  5. Set employee attendance and payment amendments accurately and in a timely manner

Training

  1. Encourage and support employees to participate in training
  2. Monitor the results and provide feedback to contribute to the evaluation process

Warehouse Team

  1. Ensure that all the teams and services are running smoothly and efficiently
  2. Ensure that stock losses and adjustments are minimal
  3. Ensure that customer service targets for collection are met
  4. Circulate the warehouse and sales floor, talking to colleagues and customers
  5. Identify and resolve urgent/important issues

Sales

  1. Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  2. Maintain awareness of market trends
  3. Understand the market in which the company operates and how the organisation’s products and services are used within the market
  4. Develop knowledge of demand, competition and prices

Logistics

  1. Responsible for work force and vehicle optimisation according to business requirements
  2. Ensure drivers and helpers start work at the time arranged by Logistics Team
  3. Ensure drivers are following their routes according to company rules and procedures
  4. Provide feedback to on urgent and/or important changes which could affect business

Health and Safety

  1. Resolve health and safety, legal and security issues
  2. Ensure workplace and work equipment are safe for workers, visitors and contractors.
  3. Ensure that employees are trained on how to do their job and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines
  4. Ensure that accidents are investigated and corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence.
  5. Ensure good housekeeping, and company properties are in good order. (Forklift trucks, racking, vehicles, freezer, computers, etc.)
  6. Report any damage of the company property to the relevant department
  7. Ensure that incoming goods are received at the agreed quantities, right temperature and intact packaging. Free from damages, pest infestation.
  8. Ensure that freezer and chiller are running at the right temperature
  9. Deliver goods to customers at: the requested quantities, right temperature, and good quality.
  10. Liaise with H&S/QA department on health and safety, food safety issues

Other

  1. Provide feedback to enhance product performance and service delivery
  2. Seek to improve relations with regard to the provision of efficient communications to facilitate product development and issue management
  3. To ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
  4. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety
  5. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements
  6. Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.

Education

  1. Relevant degree is desirable; Business Management, Logistics, Transport and Engineering subjects preferred.
  2. Relevant work experience will also be considered (minimum 5+ years in managerial role)

Physical Requirements

Lifting: The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.

Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.

Equipment: Pump trucks, forklifts, reach truck. You will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.
