Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

Contract: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Monday - Friday - 8.They are currently looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for their school. Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding

* Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.

* Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships and attitudes.

* Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc. Promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

* Work with pupils on therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional during timetabled sessions.

* To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.

* Know and understand the Class Teacher’s curriculum planning and to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.

* Take an active role in key areas of responsibility across the school including displays and organising resource.

* Develop and implement individual plans for pupils (such as the educational elements in an EHCP), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews if requested.

Successful candidate qualities:

* The Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
