Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Special Education Needs

Job Summary:

Blackstone Recruitment Limited is working with a provider of education, care, and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. They are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience in SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.

* Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.

* Monitor pupils' conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult, or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour, etc.

* Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.

* Work with pupils on therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional during timetabled sessions.

* To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.

* Know and understand the Class Teacher's curriculum planning and to plan, prepare, and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups, and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.

* Take an active role in key areas of responsibility across the school including displays and organising resources.

* Develop and implement individual plans for pupils (such as the educational elements in an EHCP), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews if requested.

Requirements:

* The Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification or demonstrate equivalent skill level.

* GCSE pass above C grade 4 in English and Maths
