Job Summary

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Aurora Group. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the Class Teacher with all elements of the day-to-day running of the class and teaching whole classes, groups, and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Class Teacher with carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Know and understand the Class Teacher's curriculum planning and to plan, prepare, and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups, and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.
  • Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
  • Take an active role in key areas of responsibility across the school including displays and organising resources.
  • Develop and implement individual plans for pupils (such as the educational elements in an EHCP), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews if requested.

Requirements

  • The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
  • GCSE pass above C grade 4 in English and Maths.
