What’s the role all about:

Role Description: Hard FM Locks and docks delivery team Electrical Fitter

The role is an Electrical Fitter reporting to the Salt Water services Team

The role scope extends to:

  • A time served industrial / heavy engineering electrician with LV control panel experience.
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to work closely as part of a team, and confident to be able work unassisted when required.
  • This is a shore based role working as part of the saltwater services team, who support the repair, maintenance and operation of the waterfront assets used for the movement and docking of vessels.
  • Working as part of a team alongside mechanical fitters, you will be carrying out routine planned maintenance, and reactive repairs on but not limited to the electrical motors, control systems and panels.
  • The role requires working in Confined Spaces, and underground installations (CS training will be provided if required).

Role Purpose (Why do we need this role and what outcomes do we expect?)

We require you to deliver:

  • Carry out Planned maintenance tasks on all Locks and Docks and Service Delivery Electrical equipment
  • Carry out Re-active repairs on all Locks and Docks and Service Delivery Electrical equipment
  • Support Vessl Movements in and out of 3 basin
  • Support Docking and Undocking evolutions

Role Responsibilities (How do we see the role being delivered?)

As part of delivering this role, you will typically be:

  • Develop and maintain positive, open and honest relationships with the customer.
  • Able to read schematic electrical drawings.
  • Competent with logic circuit control systems.
  • Competent in carrying out basic electrical fault finding and rectification.
  • Current 18 TH Edition certification.
  • Competent in carrying out electrical isolations and Lock Out Tag Out procedures prior to working on electrical equipment.
  • Confident in providing detailed defect reports to the team manager or a representative from the Chief engineers department.
  • Ensuring compliance of the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving the overall section SHE performance.

Key Experience: (Who is the ideal applicant?)

To succeed, you will ideally have:

  • City and Guilds Certificate heavy engineering electrician with LV control panel experience
  • Able to read schematic electrical drawings.
  • Competent with logic circuit control systems.
  • Competent in carrying out basic electrical fault finding and rectification.
  • Current 18 TH Edition certification.
  • Competent in carrying out electrical isolations and Lock out Tag Out procedures prior to working on electrical equipment.
  • Confident in providing detailed defect reports to the team manager or a representative from the Chief engineers department.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical distribution.

Qualifications & Memberships:

You must hold:

  • City and Guilds Certificate Electrical installations
  • BS7671 18 th Edition
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as electrical fitter.
  • Or have held or be eligible to apply for security clearance.

You should hold:

  • Proven track record of electrical fitting
  • First Aider
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety best practice.
  • High Voltage Awareness (desirable)
  • BS2391 Test and Inspect (desirable)
