This is a national role and will require weekly travel across Royal Mail sites (including Northern Ireland) at least 2 days per week.
Royal Mail is currently looking to add a Technical Installation Manager to our team. It’s an exciting time for Royal Mail… Engineering and Design are transforming how we work Our Engineering vision is blossoming with the establishment of an in-house engineering design team focussed on innovation; transforming operational processes to improve the pace and quality we provide for customers as well as help us to achieve the business net zero strategy. As a Technical Installation Manager you will be the driving force in the planning and delivery of ongoing business critical electrical and mechanical projects across the business.
Manage and deliver projects as directed to specification, on time and within budget as well as considering the impact on other projects and pipeline operations
● Manage all technical aspects of the project and ensure full compliance with specification and current legislation especially Health & Safety Issues
● Conduct detailed and thorough site surveys to determine extent of electrical and mechanical works, producing a robust cost estimate for stakeholders
● Write and issue the necessary method statements and Risk Assessments for each project and all other relevant documentation. Inspect and manage all details of the installation work ensuring installation quality and performance of RME machine moves operatives or subcontractors
● Maintenance and management of the teams skills database. Maintaining and adding to the training and development of site commissioning teams to meet the current and anticipated needs of the Company
**You are an Engineering installationcommissioning specialist who has a strong track record in delivering multiple, complex, critical and technically progressive projects to time and budget. It is a national role, with periods away from home to lead and support on project works. Fully expensed travel will be required as this is a fully mobile role.
Ideally are a NEBOSH certified installation manager with a strong CDM and safety delivery track record
● Have experience managing a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, are able to demonstrate the ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple activities simultaneously
● Have experience of managing installations within highly automated environments, ideally conveyor belted
● Can simultaneously manage a complex set of project strands in various phases of deployment
● Have a valid UK driving license
