The Role

The Internal Communications & Engagement Manager works with the CEO, Practice Partner, COO, and the wider Executive Leadership Team, as well as internal stakeholders and global counterparts (where appropriate), to maintain and execute the internal communications and engagement established framework and channels across Dentons UK, Ireland, and the Middle East, bringing the voices of the firm's executive leaders, clients, and colleagues to the fore. They also contribute to the improvement and development of a range of two-way engagement mechanisms, developing an engaged internal community of colleague and partner-led groups to drive overall workplace satisfaction at the firm's high-performance yet convivial culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Internal communications and engagement framework and all relevant activities, including planning, writing, editing, and managing other dynamic content for a variety of internal communications channels for communicating with partners, fee-earners, and business service professionals, ensuring the alignment of internal and external messages and communications.
  • Act as internal brand guardian, ensuring consistency across Dentons UKIME in terms of messaging, brand, strategy alignment, and tone of voice, with appropriate accommodations for cultural differences across our offices.
  • Draft all leadership communication in partnership with members of the Executive Leadership, completing any other activities in which they may ask for your involvement.
  • Support leadership with agenda setting, scripting, and content for major internal events, conferring with executive assistance and governance manager colleagues.
  • Drive high-impact internal communications campaigns, messages, and materials that drive engagement and business performance.
  • Enable Division/Practice Group Leaders, Directors, and Managers to facilitate their communications with their teams, in partnership with colleagues in HR. 
  • Work closely with the Operations Committee and department leads to devise and execute operational communications supporting the firm's change and transformation agenda.
  • Collaborate with HR on successful implementation and delivery of engagement surveys and colleague forums, working to ensure relevant action plans are put in place and delivered to drive improvements where necessary via established feedback mechanisms.
  • In conjunction with the Head of PR, manage the internal communication response to crises that affect organisational perception and reputation.

  • An understanding of the engagement drivers of business and a pragmatic approach to building plans and activities to improve overall engagement and retention.
  • Experience in planning and delivering internal communications strategies to build on a culture of feedback, transparency, and good communication across various dynamic mediums.
  • Creative, constantly leveraging new and innovative ways to communicate and engage with colleagues.
  • Effective interpersonal, management, and communication skills, including writing and presenting clear and concise professional communications to all colleagues.
  • Experience in working cross-functionally and project managing across various functions/divisions and mediums.
  • Experience in looking at best practices and identifying what might resonate at Dentons UKIME.
  • Financially literate.
  • Ability to assess whether the desired outcomes have been achieved from various initiatives and to use this to drive continuous improvement and,
  • Excellent team management skills.
