Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist , within Human Resources (HR). This role is part of the Payroll and Time & Absence Team in the HR Solutions organization based in Mumbai, India .

Role Description

The Payroll Specialist enables a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional service delivery and subject matter consultation for Payroll. This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions.

This role will lead the payroll delivery for United Kingdom in the EMEAI region. The main objective of this role is to ensure that the employees are paid on time and accurately, in compliance with the respective country tax-legislation, agreed labor conditions, company policies and regulations. In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to UK Payroll. You are expected to give informal guidance to new team members and explain complex information to others.

It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Payroll, Time & Absence, and Data Management in a productive and efficient manner.

  • Processing information with confidentiality and with a high level of accuracy.

  • Leading and partnering in strategic improvement projects, change projects.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and local authorities.

  • Perform activities according to the Dow internal control & compliance framework and lead coordination for internal and external audits.

  • Monitoring and management of outside service providers, including managing, owning, and having full accountability for the data to and from the payroll provider.

  • Serve as an escalation point to address employee queries/cases on payroll related matters.

  • Delegate and escalate queries as appropriate but remain responsible through completion.

  • Provide information and insights to Discipline Leaders to continuously improve Knowledge Base, Operational Excellence and Payroll delivery.

Qualifications:

  • You have a Masters or bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related area.

  • You bring a minimum of  5 years of payroll experience.

  • Fluency in English (written & oral) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow & ADP Globalview, SAP.

  • Experience in UK Payroll is an asset.

  • Proficiency in any other European languages is an asset.

  • Understand organizational interdependencies and experience working across functions and cultures.

  • Experience in high volume operational environments is required.

  • Experience in internal controls through prior audit participation is preferred.

  • Experience with Workday is an advantage.

  • Good problem solving, critical thinking skills and managing competing priorities.

  • By nature, this job requires a substantial amount of coordination with a variety of internal- and external stakeholders where accountability and ownership of data and processes are key.

  • Self-motivated with a customer service mindset.
