Chair in Nursing or Midwifery/Head of School
As Professor of Nursing or Midwifery and Head of School the post holder will manage, develop education activities for UG, PG, CPD and build the research profile of the School. The post holder will be expected to have an excellent international reputation, based on an extensive track record of innovative research, scholarship and/or educational development which has a major quantifiable influence in the subject area. The post holder will also make a significant contribution to teaching and learning, have comprehensive understanding of professional and regulatory requirements of educational provision, contribute at a high level to leadership and management activity and act as a role model in respect of citizenship.
The post holder will develop an atmosphere and culture among staff in the School of Nursing and Midwifery where research and teaching innovation can flourish, actively promoting and supporting staff in applying for research grants, writing and presenting papers in the continuous search for excellence; Actively seek and promote interdisciplinary research and educational partnerships within the College , across the University and in external bodies including NHS Hospitals, Primary Care Trusts and international partners; PhD or equivalent qualification or an equivalent body of work;
Current registration (able to secure registration) as a nurse with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
A substantial record of international quality outputs;
A track record in translating research into impact on other scholars and on the wider community through publication, engagement with policy and practice, consultancy and advisory work;
