Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for someone to join RA's integral Finance team who is passionate about electronic music and wants to develop their finance skills within a growing Finance function. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be involved in the technical aspects of Finance, owning the international reporting and group consolidation, ensuring accuracy and completeness as we expand internationally. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and the role, we encourage professional development and will support study where appropriate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Financial management of international companies:
    • Liaising with the external international accounting teams to produce monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets for each of the international companies
    • Comparing monthly performance to Budget and working with the internal General Managers to provide explanations for any variances.
    • Staying on top of international taxes and filing deadlines by working with the relevant external teams.
    • Lead the set-up of any new international companies
    • Be the first point of contact for any international-related queries.
  • Intercompany reporting and Group consolidation
    • Own the monthly intercompany reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are correctly reflected in each of the companies, and any discrepancies are investigated and reconciled.
    • Own the Group consolidation, posting any relevant intercompany adjustments and ensuring that all management charges and cost allocations are correctly accounted for.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Ensure Balance Sheets across each of the companies are reconciled on time, with explanations obtained for any movements
    • Maintain monthly schedules which agree to supporting data where necessary, working with the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for the Head of Finance with year-end processes.

We're looking for:

  • Qualified or nearly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proven track record of producing financial information in a complex environment
  • Experience in an international company, working across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with teams across the globe
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Experience of Quickbooks a plus
  • Experience of intercompany reconciliations and group reporting a plus
