We're Hiring: Environmental Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Environmental Manager to join our dedicated team in Suffolk, with occasional visits to our London office. This role is critical in supporting our sustainability and environmental efforts, ensuring we meet and exceed legal and company standards while fostering a culture of continual improvement. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) we will support the building for Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the Environmental and Sustainability (E+S) strategy for projects.
- Advise and guide project managers, regional managers, and other stakeholders on E+S matters.
- Manage and support Environmental and Sustainability Advisors.
- Conduct project impact assessments and coordinate specific environmental and sustainability commitments.
- Produce and utilize E+S reports to drive action plans and inform business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, company policies, and business management systems.
- Promote E+S initiatives and innovations, conducting site inspections and audits.
- Communicate lessons learned from incidents and audits to drive improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in the Civils/Utilities industry in an environmental and/or sustainability role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading teams.
- Degree in a relevant field and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to positively influence sustainability practices within projects.
- Experience implementing ISO standards is desirable.
