We are seeking an Environmental Permitting Coordination Manager to oversee a significant infrastructure initiative.
This is a contractual position expected to extend beyond the initial term.
This role is crucial for establishing a seamless connection by integrating various design teams with the Client's Permitting department and the execution team responsible for civil works.
Reporting to the Environmental Permitting and Sustainability Lead, the Environmental Permitting Coordination Manager will oversee and synchronize the schedule for delivering essential work streams to secure environmental permits, consents, and licenses necessary for the project's execution.
This position demands a high degree of technical collaboration among designers and contractors within the project framework, as well as engagement with regulatory bodies.
In this role, you will coordinate the execution of relevant work streams to facilitate the acquisition of construction-related environmental permits, consents, and licenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and communicate the timely phased delivery of information required to support the permitting process (e.g., phased release of design and procurement data to expedite permit progression).
- Monitor and report on the status of construction environmental permits, consents, and licenses.
- Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities related to environmental permitting.
- Foster professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, environmental teams, planning departments, and regulatory agencies.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in environmental permitting within major infrastructure projects.
Experience in proactive problem-solving and innovative mitigation strategies is advantageous.
Strong familiarity with environmental regulatory frameworks and their implications for complex projects in sensitive environments is essential.
Demonstrated project management experience, along with leadership and effective communication skills, is required.
Prior experience in environmental and construction permitting for complex engineering projects is mandatory.
