JOB DESCRIPTION

The position

Our experience in establishing and administering real estate structures for joint ventures, funds and long-term asset holding is extensive. Our specialist abilities are particularly effective in administering complex structures owning high value assets. We manage structures holding assets across many property sectors, including office, retail, industrial, shopping centres, hotels and leisure, residential, development, nursing homes and student accommodation.

You will play a lead role in the accounting of complex and varied portfolio of real estate structures in conjunction with the Senior Financial Account Manager (“SFAM”). You will develop and supervise a team of accountants based in our Bangalore Office in relation to the bookkeeping, management accounts preparation, financial statement preparation, and other ad-hoc reporting for our real estate structures.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

Real Estate Accounting:

  • Preparation of and agreeing accounting reporting templates with clients.
  • Assist SFAM with the implementation of appropriate procedures in respect of any new business.
  • Ensure the accounting requirements, statutory and client reporting deadlines are met, assisting in planning, scheduling, and monitoring of workloads.
  • Key contact in significant client relationship and responsible for accounting service delivery.
  • Preparation/review of annual financial statements under UK GAAP / IFRS for Real Estate clients.
  • Preparation/review of monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and ad-hoc management accounts for Real Estate Clients.
  • Planning for and overseeing the audit process for the audited client portfolio, building a strong, collaborative relationship with auditors.
  • Timely completion of team specific accounting trackers.

Client Care:

  • Oversee day to day servicing of portfolio of clients ensuring the structures are operating in line with the agreed Service Level Agreement (“SLA”).
  • Communicate openly and honestly with clients, fee earners, and external providers.
  • Maintain client documents with integrity.

People & Team:

  • Act as a mentor to accountants, supervise and assist in their training and development.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to accountants on the conduct of their responsibilities.
  • Drive personal development using all the resources available at Intertrust to achieve success.
  • Proactively ensure that internal team management information is completed on a timely basis.
  • Provide new, innovative ideas on how to improve the efficiencies of daily tasks.
  • Take care of and establish good relationships with all suppliers, teammates, and clients.
  • Provide cover during the absence of SFAM

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

  • The legal right to work in Jersey, Channel Islands
  • Be able to deal with tasks independently & use own initiative.
  • Committed and driven to achieve excellence for themselves and clients.
  • Strong academic background.
  • ACCA/CA/CPA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong technical knowledge within Real Estate, Private Equity, SPV's and funds business areas.
  • Excellent proven client relationship experience and feedback
  • Current IFRS / UK GAAP experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Investran desirable
