Over the last 71 years TTG (the Travel Trade Gazette) has been connecting global travel suppliers with the travel trade in the UK & Ireland. Today through our totally unique profiled database of travel sellers, TTG Media is able to help suppliers target specific audiences within the sector through a portfolio of results-driven marketing services to create meaningful connections, long-term relationships and drive sales.


We are now searching for a Sales Director to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will own and deliver the commercial strategy to support our established three-year growth plan, manage and lead a partnerships team of 6+ (with experience managing similar sized sales teams) and work closely with some of the biggest trade facing suppliers across the UK to deliver measurable business results.


Responsibilities


Strategy


  • Fully accountable for the total revenue number and delivering the three-year sales plan to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual targets
  • Working closely with key accounts and building relationships with c-suite, sales, marketing and operations teams within those businesses.
  • Reporting up and down the business against a comprehensive sales strategy using Salesforce to monitor business and sales team KPIs
  • Creating highly impactful proposals and presentations to demonstrate company USPs, case studies and how to deliver business outcomes through a suite of multi-channel marketing services
  • Discovering and reporting on the pain-points and needs analysis of key verticals within the travel sector to match (or future develop) marketing services that meet those needs
  • Create business plans to support any product development opportunities identified
  • Ensuring company values and mission to build a Smarter, Better, Fairer travel industry is fully supported by all commercial output.


Team Management


  • Managing and leading a team of 5+ Partnership Managers with proven experience managing teams of a similar size effectively.
  • Creating positive team culture at all times with natural ability and experience of embedding sales team values and behaviours
  • Consistently managing and coaching a sales team throughout the year with experience creating and measuring a development programme.
  • Ability to create a high performing sales team with Salesforce at the core of the strategy and all daily workflows (Note: Those without a minimum of 3 years+ Salesforce experience will not be considered.)
  • Participate in team building and company growth activities to maintain close rapport with company-wide team members
  • Ensuring communication is fluid throughout the entire company to ensure you are consistently working as “one team” towards a set of common goals.


Sales


  • Managing a set of key accounts to accelerate their business and establishing rapport with c-suite, marketing, sales and operations teams within those businesses.
  • Deliver consistent sales processes to meet the three-year growth plan to ensure delivery of TTG Media’s unique value proposition to all suppliers
  • Growing new business ensuring the partnerships team have the tools and ability to grow their account base each month with clear sales phasing plans to match the three-year sales strategy
  • Delivering net profit growth across the annual sales plan
  • Managing the day-to-day sales operations focused on driving the revenue performance from existing and new business, whilst building a culture of relentless customer focus and care
  • Building and developing strong relationships with new and existing clients in meetings and at events across the UK & Internationally whenever required
  • Working closely with the Managing Director, Head of Finance and Operations Manager to create reports and processes in SalesForce to grow sales leads, opportunities and measure the team’s progress and activity on a regular basis
  • Assisting in the focus, preparation and delivery of marketing activity



Candidate Profile


  • Essential – minimum 3-5 years experience working with SalesForce (only) to create sales processes and execute sales strategy with the CRM at its core.
  • Essential - minimum 3-5 years managing and leading a sales team of delivering personal development plans, embedding sales behaviors and values contributing to business and team success.
  • Essential – minimum 3 years achieving personal sales targets of £700k-£1m per annum through creative digital and content-led campaigns
  • Essential – experience selling event sponsorship with demonstrable experience creating new sponsorship opportunities with the events and/or marketing team.

  • You should be highly analytical with a data first approach to creating sales campaigns and measuring success beyond marketing results.
  • You should have proven experience and a natural appetite for sales management, methods and how to maintain a positive sales culture
  • You should have a desire, even an obsession to source new customers for you and your team to meet the team’s account growth goals
  • A demonstrable understanding of the value of online media, data segmentation and event formats to support a B2B audience
  • A high level of confidence, including the ability to hold high-level conversations with c-suite and all other operational layers of key accounts
  • An excellent understanding of value-led, consultative sales practices and processes to deliver business results beyond just marketing outcomes.
  • Possess experience coaching and leading sales team based on the required sales behaviors of the business matched against the sales needs/profiles of your team.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present to large groups of customers face-to-face and create high impact, star quality partnership proposals
  • The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines with proven organizational processes
  • Self-starter with a positive, entrepreneurial attitude
  • Enjoy working as part of a team, being in the office a minimum 3 days per week and collaborating at all times with all company stakeholders to ensure client objectives are communicated and achieved collectively.
