Introduction:
Fynde Global Recruitment has partnered with a globally recognised consumer goods brand specialising in innovation and sustainability, headquartered in the Netherlands. This organisation is known for its cutting-edge approach in the Personal & Home Care sector. They are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to oversee key territories within Europe, particularly in the UK and France. This remote-based role will involve regular travel to the Netherlands and extensive travel within the sales territories. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, with a good command of French also being highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and Customer Development:
- Identify, develop, and convert potential prospects into loyal, long-term customers. The role involves targeting key decision-makers, building rapport, and understanding the unique needs of each prospect to tailor solutions that create value and drive sales growth. This includes both cold calling and leveraging existing networks to build a robust sales pipeline.
Sales Strategy Execution and Enhancement:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives, ensuring that each tactic and tool is optimised for maximum customer engagement and revenue generation. This includes improving systems and processes that enhance customer loyalty, drive consistent sales performance, and ensure that prospects’ needs are met effectively.
Building and Nurturing Relationships:
- Engage and influence key stakeholders within prospect companies, such as marketing teams, pack development, and senior decision-makers, to establish strong, sustainable business relationships. Your ability to communicate the benefits of the company's product portfolio will be critical in fostering long-term partnerships and securing sales.
Effective Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and present well-structured, accurate bids, price quotes, meeting summaries, and sales reports. Consistently follow up on quotations and proactively update the sales pipeline to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting on sales progress. Regularly assess the effectiveness of your sales activities and adapt strategies as needed to meet targets.
Sales Forecasting and Pipeline Management:
- Maintain a clear and accurate sales pipeline, forecasting revenue and identifying potential roadblocks in the sales process. This will require strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to analyse market trends to anticipate customer needs and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Collaboration with Sales & Marketing:
- Work closely with the Sales & Marketing teams to ensure alignment on product positioning, promotional activities, and customer messaging. Stay informed on marketing campaigns and initiatives, and be prepared to act on them to drive new business opportunities.
Travel and Territory Management:
- Plan and organise your travel, meetings, and visits effectively to ensure that your activities align with personal sales objectives. As a key member of the team, you will be expected to travel frequently within your designated territories, primarily in the UK and France, to engage with prospects, demonstrate products, and close deals.
Product Knowledge and Brand Advocacy:
- As a representative of the company, you will need to be well-versed in the company’s products and services, providing prospects with in-depth knowledge and insights. You will be responsible for presenting the advantages of the product range and demonstrating its value to customers.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
- Attend meetings, training sessions, exhibitions, and seminars relevant to the role to stay ahead of industry trends, improve your sales approach, and enhance product knowledge. Constant self-improvement is encouraged to ensure you stay at the forefront of sales best practices.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consultative selling: Preferably in service-based selling with a solid network within the Personal & Home Care industry. You should have a track record of working with diverse customer needs and tailoring sales approaches accordingly.
- Customised Sales Approach: Demonstrate the ability to customise sales strategies based on an in-depth understanding of each prospect’s range, strategy, and specific needs. This requires flexibility and the ability to adapt your approach to suit the unique requirements of each prospect.
- Excellent Communication and Networking: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should be able to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within an organisation, from marketing teams to senior leadership, and have excellent networking abilities to grow your sales opportunities.
- Sales Territory Expertise: The ability to identify, target, and engage key prospects within the designated sales territory, ensuring your efforts are aligned with market opportunities and customer demand.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, capable of working independently while driving results. A proactive approach is essential to success in this role.
- Willingness to Travel: The role requires frequent travel within the designated territories (UK and France), with the potential for travel across Asia for training and to meet with prospects. You should be comfortable with extensive travel, which may include up to 70% of the time.
- Passionate Closer: High levels of confidence in closing deals, with a results-oriented mindset. You should be driven by achieving targets and passionate about driving business success.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Once a deal is closed, you will work closely with Customer Service and Account Management teams to ensure smooth handovers and continued customer satisfaction, allowing you to focus on securing new deals.
