The Health, Safety & Risk Manager will provide advice and support to the Head and other senior staff on general risk management and compliance issues, driving improvements in the management of risk across all areas of the school.

The Health, Safety & Risk Manager role is primarily focussed on Sherborne School, Sherborne Prep and Sherborne International. Some support to other Group Schools (Sherborne Girls and Hanford) may be required on occasion, as directed by the Director of Risk Management.

This is a permanent full-time position. However, applicants wishing to undertake the role on a part-time basis will be considered.

Salary up to £42,000 depending on skills and experience.

About Us:

Sherborne School is a boys independent boarding school situated in the shadow of Sherborne Abbey. Founded by Royal Charter in 1550, the school has roots going back to the origins of the See of Sherborne in 705.

There are eight boarding houses accommodating a total of about 600 boys (aged 13-18). Sherborne Preparatory School was merged into the Sherborne School Group in 2021. The school teaches approximately 200 pupils of all ages from Nursery to Year 8 (day and boarding). Sherborne International is the marketing name for Sherborne School s significant short course programme which runs in the summer and Easter holidays.

The schools are part of a wider charitable company limited by guarantee (the Sherborne Schools Group) which has a turnover of c.£55 million and includes Sherborne Girls School, Hanford School and various subsidiary companies. The COO is responsible for the delivery of all support functions to the Sherborne Schools Group which includes Finance, Estates, HR, ICT Services and Risk Management.
