The challenge The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we’re responsible for regulating nuclear site health and safety, nuclear safety, security, safeguards and the transport of radioactive materials. As an HR People Services Delivery Lead, you’ll have a fantastic chance to improve your expertise at an outstanding regulator. The roleIn this key role, you’ll be at the heart of HR, tackling varied tasks. They include supporting our HR specialists, so the team can provide a professional, responsive and flexible HR service. You’ll also take responsibility for bringing more great people through ONR’s doors. You’ll be active at every stage of the process, from leading recruitment campaigns and undertaking pre-employment checks, to on-boarding new starters.

When you’re not busy with recruitment, you’ll be helping colleagues in a range of ways. You could be drafting business cases one day, and co-ordinating KPIs for the HR Directorate the next. Placed at the hub of the department, you’ll use your knowledge of HR policies and best practice to advise staff and managers. Whatever the task, you’ll be efficient and organised, whether you’re working alone or as part of a team.

The person At this level, you must be ready to make an impact, right from day one. That’s why we’ll be looking for a CIPD qualification (level 3 or above) or alternatively, a breadth of professional HR experience. You’ll also need the ability to deal with all kinds of people within and outside ONR. With your great communication skills, you’ll express yourself clearly, in person, on paper and online.

Ideally, you’ll have used applicant tracking systems and worked in the public sector before. However, what’s really important are your HR knowledge and ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

The rewardsWe offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £30,199 to £35,625. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits), and generous holiday entitlement.
