A need has arisen for an experienced Claims Manager to join the BTE Legal Expenses Claims Team.
The BTE Claims team deals with assessing and managing indemnity provided to policyholders for the purpose of pursuing/ defending a range of legal action, including employment, property and contractual disputes.
You’ll be responsible for managing a small number of people, and your duties will include, but certainly not be limited to holding regular 1-2-1s, supporting other senior leaders in the development and promotion of the Legal Expenses Team, and taking overall responsibility for and oversight of all claims handled within the team. You’ll oversee the team’s workload, whilst maintaining a detailed knowledge of policy wordings and their application for all the varied classes of business handled. In addition, you’ll provide support with the oversight of the external service providers and TPAs used by the Legal Expenses Claims Team, and maximise the effectiveness of the panel. This role will give you exposure to some fascinating risks, as well as involvement with a wide range of team projects.
It's essential that you have leadership experience within a commercial claims environment, either from an insurance company, or a legal firm. Ideally, you will also hold a Legal qualification as this will aid you with your interactions with both internal and external solicitors. It is not essential that you have previous experience within the Legal Expenses market as full training will be provided, and you will be assigned a mentor in order to build your knowledge and confidence within this area.
