An opportunity has arisen within our Customer Support & Services organisation for a strong competent leader to deliver a key Complex Weapons capability to UK MoD. The successful candidate will take the lead in ensuring all product support activities are planned, managed and delivered in a manner which satisfies not only our contractual obligations but at all times maintains MBDA reputation throughout the product In-Service Lifecycle. 

Job Title: Technical Services Manager

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience 

Location: Gosport - Secondment

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically for this role you will work 4 - 5 days per week on-site at Defence Munitions Gosport.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

You will take the lead in ensuring all product support activities are planned, managed and delivered in a manner which satisfies not only our contractual obligations but at all times maintains MBDA reputation throughout the product In-Service Lifecycle. 

This opportunity will give you considerable scope to improve programme management skills, develop Customer facing skills and promote your profile internationally within MBDA.

What we're looking for from you:

  • A broad based engineering background, preferably degree level qualified in a technical discipline, with substantial knowledge and experience of Complex Munitions
  • Strong understanding in the application of the UK MoD's technical and logistics systems
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the business
  • Prioritisation and ability to deal with multiple issues on a regular basis
  • Strategic planning of  support work, ensuring  equipment availability requirements are always met
  • The ability to embed in a customer owned environment for the long term while maintaining your MBDA identity
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
