Job Summary
PWS Technical Services (UK) LTD is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Contracts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the technical, operational, and commercial aspects of all projects undertaken by the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct contracts and projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Take managerial responsibility to review and guide operations through all phases of the contract lifecycle, both with clients and internal teams.
- Attend site meetings with clients and key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the smooth delivery of contracts.
- Inspect works in progress to ensure they conform to HSEQ procedures and project specifications, and are being carried out in accordance with the correct design procedures.
- Liaise directly with the design and estimating teams to resolve pre-construction challenges.
- Ensure HSEQ plans, RAMS, and contract programmes are prepared for individual contracts, and all in accordance with company policy.
- Attend regular meetings with your team to report on projects, and provide guidance in regards to proposals and recommendations as required.
- Ensure the commercial team are provided with all relevant information, documentation, and instructions to support contract variations.
- Ensure all projects are planned and executed strictly in accordance with company policy, while maintaining and improving the professional and progressive image of the company.
- Develop and implement plans for the mobilisation and running of contracts, ensuring that all goals are either achieved or bettered with an emphasis upon service delivery, and ultimately effectively manage all activities with regards to operations and construction activities.
Requirements
- Possess a relevant qualification (HNC or NVQ4 etc), along with a valid CSCS and SMSTS.
- Possess a track record in hands-on contracts/projects management in the groundworks, remediation, earthworks, heavy or specialist civils, foundations, or ground-geotechnical engineering arena.
- To have run contracts with a diplomatic and pragmatic approach, but also with a hands-on attitude to clients, sub-contractors, and people management.
- To have had first-hand experience of contracts management, and therefore able to demonstrate a tenacious, lead-from-the-front approach, while also having previous experience of working in a client-end-user-focused environment.
- Good levels of experience at all contract stages.
- Full UK driving licence.
