The National Account Manager is accountable and responsible for developing a strategic route to market for the cash and carry channel across UK. The main responsibility will be the management of Booker, Costco and Best Way Wholesale.


Next to this you will be a consultant and advisor for the further development of Cash and Carry within the Ethnic Channel in the UK and the Irish cash and carry market. This is a strategic role, and autonomous role which will require a clear communication to of our offer to the our foodservice and retail market. A self-starter mentality is required and a keen sense of responsibility.


As part of this role, you will report directly to the UK Retail & Cash and Carry Sales Director. The successful candidate will need to thrive in an empowered environment, where attention to detail and strategic thinking are critical.


What do you do?

  • Develop, establish and execute a strategic route-to-market model for the cash and carry channel and smaller grocery retailer accounts;
  • Prepare sales goals and objectives, develop sales plans, develop account profiles for the relevant cash and carry, based on clear category insights;
  • Longer term objective is to obtain category captaincy within the Cash and Carry channel for LW;
  • Produce periodical sales reports and accurate records on actual and planned sales, offers, sales transactions and visit reports;
  • Full A-to-Z business planning, manage the forecasts, quotations, and contract management;
  • Execute the sales plan by expanding and maintaining a strong customer relation network for LW, especially focusing on developing and maintaining critical customer relationships;
  • Identify and realise new business opportunities across the portfolio of accounts and as to agreed new business targets;
  • Plan and execute sales promotions, LTO's and permanent listings, working together with the international marketing team and the UK marketeer;
  • Conduct contract negotiations, finalise contracts and follow up the contract implementation;
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.


What do you bring?

  • At least a Bachelors' degree; Between 5-8 years of professional sales experience in international (food or produce) company; with branded experience in the cash and carry sector being highly desirable;
  • Experience working with grocery retailers at a junior level (e.g., account executive, sales representative, or category support roles), with a solid understanding of retail buyer behavior and merchandising;
  • Experience working in the wholesale foodservice network is essential;
  • Any prior experience working for a cash and carry wholesale organisation would be considered a valuable asset;
  • Strong P&L management skills and a demonstrated track record of delivering growth results in the Cash and Carry or Wholesale sector;
  • A driven, self-starter personality who is keen to learn and grow with the business;
  • Thrives in an environment that provides autonomy and empowerment;
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to seizing opportunities and achieving targets.
