Pod Talent is excited to be supporting a leading global medical solutions company in recruiting for a UK Customs and Trade Compliance Manager. Key Responsibilities for the position of Trade Compliance Manager -

  • Lead the development and execution of a standardised global trade compliance program, focusing on the UK and Europe.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, supporting the smooth and efficient movement of products globally.
  • Manage and support the Inward Process Relief program, ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance.
  • Conduct audits and manage the AEO certification process, analysing and resolving compliance issues.
  • Assign and review global Harmonised Tariff Codes (HTS) and manage SAP master data.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including trade automation and process optimisation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, such as customs brokers and government agencies, to maintain high compliance standards.


Key Experience Required for the position of Trade Compliance Manager -

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international trade compliance, with expertise in both import and export regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, particularly in medical devices, within Europe and the US.
  • Proven experience in managing global customs programs and working with diverse, multinational teams.
  • Direct experience with Inward Processing Relief (IPR) is essential.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, develop actionable strategies, and implement them effectively.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with trade automation systems like Thomson Reuters OneSource is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare (medical device) industry, or another highly regulated industry desirable but not required.
