The role of the HR Manager is instrumental in delivering our strategy and is responsible for the day to day HR operations. Core responsibilities include:

General Operations

  • To advise, guide and support staff and managers by providing high level people management and development support across the company.
  • Ensure an effective strategic and operational HR function is provided across the Company to support, enhance and develop strategic objectives.
  • Lead on a range of complex employee relations casework.
  • Analyse, interpret and communicate often complex, contentious and sensitive information in order to agree and deliver an appropriate course of action.
  • Responsible for delivering the Company’s recruitment strategy.
  • Manage either internal or external recruitment campaigns; working closely with managers to identify their requirements and timelines, drafting job descriptions, posting job ads, vetting a fair application process, arranging interviews, communicating with candidates and/or recruiters.
  • Accurately maintain and positively embrace key documentation required for each HR function including any relevant - dashboards, budgets, policies, SOW’s, operational or resource tools.

Systems of Work (SOW)

  • Maintenance of HR systems including starters and leavers.
  • Strategic lead with senior leaders in the business ensuring that all advice,
  • guidance, support and administration provided to managers and employees is timely, accurate and compliant with HR best practice and current employment legislation.
  • Identifying HR and Organisational Development (OD) priorities from department and organisational plans, translating requirements and delivering people solutions aligned to the business plan.
  • To adopt a proactive and supportive approach to managers
  • Work with managers to compile training plans for their teams to support the achievement of the organisational objectives, and design and deliver appropriate training and development programmes.
  • Manage closely the onboarding and offboarding process of all new employees.

Finance

  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, bonus and other periods of leave
  • Own the headcount master file and ensure it is a single source of information for all employee related data.
  • Provide and maintain a monthly report to present to the Board.

Compliance

  • Keep abreast of developments in HR and Employment Law bringing these to the attention of the Directors and management team, and updating key HR policies and procedure documents to ensure they are legislatively compliant.
  • Lead on the implementation and development of HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain and enforce a positive approach to health and safety culture.
  • To provide robust strategic HR advice and guidance to the Directors.

Collaboration, Reporting

  • Collaborate with company Leadership to define and implement strategic
  • initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and risk management
  • Produce, interrogate and report on workforce data to predict and address
  • challenges and work collaboratively with the Directors and the management
  • team in respect of workforce planning, succession planning and a talent
  • management process that ensures continuity for identified business critical
  • roles and meets the capability requirements of the business in the short and
  • longer term.

Innovation

  • Lead the implementation of organisational design and development strategies that improve individual and organisational performance
  • Foster a culture of innovation and productivity in the workplace, incorporating new technologies, operating systems, and business processes when and where necessary

Forming part of the Management team of the business and reporting directly to the Central Services Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and operating the HR business function, aiming for high levels of competence, expertise and compliance.


Key Requirements

  • University graduate in either HR Management or Employment Law.
  • CIPD Qualification Level 5.
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of UK employment law legislation.
  • Previous background within a generalist HR Function.
  • Experience in successfully managing and executing process change and implementation or other significant operational transformations.
  • A strategic thinker - dynamic and strategic approach to growth, goal setting and strategy with an ability to strike a balance between short-term tactical actions and long-term strategic planning.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, enabling effective management of HR issues and the ability to actively engage and influence peers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
