The role


We have an exciting opportunity for a standalone HR Manager to join our dedicated team in our Warrington headquarters on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a true HR generalist and will be able to oversee and manage all aspects of our human resources functions, from recruitment and onboarding to payroll and employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple HR functions efficiently.


Roles and Responsibilities:


Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Collate and process payroll information for the external payroll company, including overtime.
  • Manage pension administration (pension information provided by the external payroll company)
  • Manage renewals for BUPA, life assurance, dental, and LinkedIn.


HR Strategy and Compliance:

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting investigations and recommending appropriate actions (external HR support available)
  • Ensure compliance with Right to Work regulations


Employee Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Support and ensure the performance management process is completed effectively
  • Draft contracts, issue new starter packs, and handle all employee correspondence related to the employee life cycle.
  • Organize and conduct HR inductions, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.


Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

  • Advertise job vacancies and screen candidates.
  • Headhunt and contact potential candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, ensuring the availability of all parties.
  • Liaise with recruiters and manage scholarship and apprenticeship programs.


Employee Relations and Coaching:

  • Be the first point of contact for managers and employees and advise them on any HR-related matters.
  • Coach managers, equipping them with the confidence and tools to address and manage issues sensitively and in a timely manner.
  • Draft and send employee relations letters and follow up on responses.


Social Value and Events:

  • Collate data for social value reporting.
  • Manage company HR-related internal communications.


Administrative Tasks:

  • Handle all administrative tasks associated with day-to-day HR activities.
  • Support training bookings and upload relevant certificates and documents.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 or experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager with the ability to work confidently in a standalone environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and industry trends.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HR software systems (e.g., IRIS/Cascade).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Driver’s license.
