About the Role


To assist in promoting the highest level of awareness and compliance in all aspects of Safety, Security, Health and Environment Management in line with the business Zero Harm strategy. This key role will not only help deliver sustainable improvements to the facility but also help to develop a cultural change in the mind set of all employees. It will embrace all aspects and matters relating to the Safety, Health, Wellbeing and Environmental Management of the facility, integrating a common sense approach into the business needs.


You will be leading in achieving objectives and targets including:

  • Accreditation to ISO14001 standard
  • Magna corporate audit readiness
  • Delivery of behavioural based observation program
  • PPE review
  • Ergonomics program delivery
  • Claims investigation and a 10% accident reduction
  • Carbon neutral program and energy reduction


Your Responsibilities


  • Support the Magna Corporate EHS compliance protocols.
  • Support the waste packaging submissions.
  • Implement an ergonomics programme and update action links in line with Magna requirements.
  • Support the implementation and sustainability of the HSE MAFACT requirements.
  • Development and implement the site HSE improvement plans.
  • Ensure maintenance of records for training, consents, COSHH registers audits, statutory inspection requirements, etc.
  • Collate and report EHS KPI’s for the site at plant and group level as required.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver site inductions.
  • Co-ordinate and assist in the development, maintenance and review of site training matrices, ensuring training needs are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor and report on incident management via software systems.
  • Co-ordinate and assist line managers in conducting and reviewing site risk assessments.
  • Co-ordinate and assist line managers in the development and reviewing of site safe systems of work.
  • Provide EHS advice and guidance to all staff.
  • Ensure compliance to all environment regulations and controls and report any actual or potential environmental impact.
  • Ensure appropriate security arrangements are in place and are regularly monitored.
  • Responsible for the health safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and visitors to site
  • Legal and corporate compliance.
  • Delivery of safety and environmental related activities
  • Provide the methods and means to achieve Zero Harm.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Be an active member of the site HSE committee.
  • Develop and implement HSE monthly toolbox talks.
  • Ensure risk assessments are up to date and maintained.
  • Other duties commensurate to the role.
