We are looking to recruit a youth worker to a new and exciting project being undertaken by Adoption East Midlands to develop a multi-disciplinary team.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months in a newly established project, to develop and create an effective multi-disciplinary team as part of the AEM support offer to adoptive children and their families.

Your role will involve working with partner agencies, such as education, health, and social care workers. A key part of the role is to support young people in a trauma informed way and with a youth work approach.

You will work in a strength-based way and aim to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people adopted and their families. You will be expected to work creatively as part of a team to develop the youth offer within AEM, and to participate in the wider role of the AEM strategic MDT group and working closely and alongside the Nottinghamshire Youth Service.

You will be committed and passionate about adoption issues and it is desirable to have some working knowledge of this specialist area, or of working from a trauma informed perspective.

Our regional territory covers the D2N2 local authority area and therefore a commitment to travel around the regional area is essential. We are interested in receiving applications from people who have a working knowledge of youth provision in both Derby/Derbyshire and Nottingham City/Nottinghamshire.

This will be an extremely rewarding opportunity to be part of a creative project. You will receive regular supervision, training, and the opportunity to develop your skills alongside working within a friendly and mutually supportive staff group.

Interviews will take place on Monday 30th September 2024 in the evening and adopted young people will be part of this process.
